X-ray fluorescence technology

There is no doubt that our stable isotope analysis is the method of choice for the analysis of origin, providing precise isotopic "fingerprints" that track the geographical origin of products like timber, food, and more.

In addition, we optimize our differentiations more and more with quantification of the elements, e.g. trace elements.

As a rule, the trace element parameters are very unstable, error-prone and can only be used for a very short time. However, in combination with the stable isotope method as a basis, we can generate an even more accurate "fingerprint" of your product, using elemental composition only to support the isotopic data and ensure greater confidence in the geographic origin of the material.

A perfect support

In fact, stable isotopes and trace elements analysis normally needs different preparation lines.

Different preparation lines are usually required for analysing stable isotopes and trace elements. This ultimately leads to a doubling of the analysis price, which is not desirable for our customers.

Agroisolab has now been able to solve the problem by using the latest energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence technology (ED-XRF).

That technology offers several key benefits.

Non-destructive:

Our energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence technology (ED-XRF) allows us to analyse the test samples without altering or damaging them, making it ideal for valuable materials such as timber and agricultural products.

Integration:

The ED-XRF can be easily integrated in the work-flow of the stable isotope preparation.

Enhanced origin verification:

The combined use stable isotopes and trace elements provides a more comprehensive picture of the origin and authenticity of your products.

Optimal price:

Our goal is to offer two technologies at the same price. The additional cost of integrating ED-XRF is therefore very low.
